I am a Delhite. Now I stay in Bangalore, and have been here for almost 4 years. Until today I never felt that I was not home. But today I felt that perhaps the North-South divide does really exist and that Delhi is home, while Bangalore will always treat us like outsiders.

I am a freelance writer, and did a project for a guy named Philip who runs a small ad agency. This guy proudly claims that he is a Bangalorean. After I completed the project he kept promising to pay me for 3 months. Now he tells me that he does not remember that I gave him any stuff, and refuses to pay me. When I threatened him with action, he dared me to go to the court. He said Bangalore was his domain and "ilaaka" and that being a bloody North Indian, there was nothing I could do about getting my money from him.

Is this what it has come to? Will Bangalore now chase away "outsiders" like this? Is this guy Philip an example of what Bangalore has become?

After almost 4 yrs in Bangalore, it had started feeling like home. But now I realise that North Indians will always be outsiders. Shame on Bangaloreans.

If you guys don't agree, you should probably explain to Philip. Coz my impression of the city and its people is set - Cheaters!
